One thing I love about the warmer months, besides, you know, heat, is that it means smoothies feel great again. Sure, I sometimes have them in the winter, but more as a snack since in the mornings I crave something warm to combat how wrong it feels to leave my warm bed.
It’s fun to play around with smoothie combos. Most times it works, sometimes it doesn’t, but I always drink it anyways – waste not, want not. This is one of the ones that does work, and work very well. It’s full of protein and good fats, which is essential to keep me going without having a hangry attack before lunchtime.
This is a creamy, dreamy protein smoothie. When I’m low on time, I’ll make this smoothie, pour it all into a jar, and dash out the door. Sometimes I’ll wash the blender, sometimes I won’t. Balance, darling. (Anyone seen Ab Fab yet?!)
If you guys remember a few posts back I have some tips on how to jazz up your smoothie, and adding beans was one of them, so I thought I’d share with you guys a recipe that actually does this.
So adding beans to a smoothie might not be standard procedure, but I say we’re independent people who can do whatever we want! So we’re bean-ing this up.
Just make sure to fully blend, as you don’t want random pieces of mushy bean as you drink your smoothie!
