Recipe type: Breakfast, Smoothie
Cuisine: Healthy, Vegan, Paleo, Raw
Serves: 1
Ingredients
1 apple, chopped (leave skin on!)
Handful of kale leaves
½ cup water
½ cup nut milk (I used almond)
1 tbsp ground flax seeds
1 tbsp pumpkin seed butter
1 tbsp greens powder*
1 tsp bee pollen, for sprinkling
1 tbsp vegan protein powder (optional)
Instructions
Add your apple, kale, and liquid to a blender and blitz until fully combined, about 1-2 minutes. Add the rest of the ingredients and blend again until they're all combined without any lumps and pieces.
Serve in a glass, sprinkling your bee pollen on top!
Notes
GREEN POWDER -There are many options out there, so look for a greens powder that has at least wheatgrass and spirulina! Preferentially raw and organic, but if you can't find any good ones then just some spirulina or wheatgrass on its own will do!
VEGAN - simply omit the bee pollen
GROUND FLAX - If you can, make the ground flaxseeds yourself. To do so, place the wholeflaxseeds in a spice or coffee grinder and blitz them into a powder. Store in the fridge for up to a week!
