Quick Morning Mocha Smoothie (Dairy Free + Vegan)

Quick Morning Mocha Smoothie (Dairy Free + Vegan)

There is something about having coffee and chocolate that is pretty magical.

Actually chocolate and just about anything is pretty magical to me, I just can’t get enough of the stuff. I’ve long been adding it to oatmeal, any and all desserts, and of course I don’t shy away from the oh-so-sweet white chocolate either. I have a sweet tooth and I’m not afraid to use it! Now it was time for me to add it to the humble coffee.

In this mocha smoothie the cacao adds richness to the slightly bitter coffee, while the banana adds both sweetness and creaminess to the smoothie. Almond butter because it’s freaking almond butter and tastes amazing, and then you can either add or not some dates, depending on how sweet you want it to go.

I love having this coffee and chocolate mocha smoothie for breakfast on those days I want an extra pick-me-up.

It’s creamy and tastes super indulgent, and gives you the perfect coffee kick to start the day! Having coffee in the morning is a new thing in my life, and something I’ve been thoroughly enjoying especially now that the weather in London is getting chillier. It seems that the jury is still out on how healthy or unhealthy coffee is, so I’m going to enjoy it when I want it, trying to keep it to one a day, every other day.

The video bellow is in on my brand spanking new YouTube channel! Let me know what you guys think, send me any videos you guys would like me to make, and if you can I’d love you forever if you’d subscribe ????

Ingredients
  • 125ml black coffee
  • 125ml almond milk
  • ½ small banana, frozen in chunks
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 tablespoons cacao
  • 2 dates, pits removed
  • 1 tablespoons almond butter
  • Handful of ice
Instructions
  1. Place all the ingredients into a blender and blend until fully combined and creamy.
  2. Serve immediately.
Notes
I don't wait for my coffee to cool because I'm impatient. If your banana isn't frozen, I'd wait for it cool a bit so that the smoothie isn't too hot in the blender.
