4 Easy Ways to Detox After Christmas!

Hello lovelies!!

I hope you have had an amazing Christmas, full of happy memories, delicious food, hugs, kisses, awesome presents, and sweet time with loved ones. I had an incredible time here in Sydney, filled with joy!

One common thing of Christmas though is the eating and drinking in copious amounts. The feast, the leftovers, the toasting. It can all leave us feeling a bit bloated and ridden down. I definitely feel like I need some time to detox and get my body back to it’s happy state, so here are my favourite 4 simply and super easy ways to detox and re-balance after Christmas!

Sleep more than you normally would

If you’re used to sleeping 7-8 hours a night, increase it to 10 hours for a few days!

This may sound like utter indulgence, but it’s during our sleep that our bodies do most of the cleansing and detoxing, and allowing it those few extra hours can do wonders!

If those extra hours don’t sound like something you can do for whatever reason, then at least try and get your solid 8 hours of quality sleep. Disconnect from technology at least an hour (ideally 2-3) before bedtime, drink some herbal tea, relax, and go to bed. I love to read in bed for 45min to 1 hour to help me unwind.

Drink warm water with lemon

Right upon waking up, warm up some water and squeeze in the juice of half a lemon.

This is an amazing way to waken your body in the morning, as it gives your digestion and metabolism a boost and also helps your liver get rid of all the toxins!

You can take it a step further by jazzing it up with some raw apple cider vinegar or a pinch of cayenne. I also really like adding some aloe vera juice or a liver detoxing tonic!

Dry Body Brush - 4 Easy Ways to Detox After Christmas!

These beauties not only rid our skin of dead cells but it also help our lymphatic drainage system to get rid of toxins. It improves our blood circulation, helps reduce cellulite, and rejuvenates the nervous system.

See what I mean? Now go get yours!

Sip on a green smoothie/juice

Since Christmas a time of heavy foods and drinking, one of the best things we can do is give our digestive system a break.

A green smoothie or juice is not only easy for your body to digest but it is also filled with amazing vitamins, enzymes, and nutrients to give your body some much deserved (and needed!) goodness. I love starting my day with a green smoothie following my lemon water, but you could add it in anytime. I also love having a green juice in the afternoon if I’m feeling a bit peckish.
