My Favourite Natural Hair Care Products!

My Favourite Natural Hair Care Products!

Hair care is something I’m very adamant about.

I don’t wash my hair too often, maybe two or three times a week, and also tend to sleep with it in a loose bun on top of my head to keep it from crunching on my pillow. I also seldom apply heat to it, which is due to a mix between laziness and knowing its not good for my hair, though I do love how it looks once it’s been blow-dried and styled. I mean, who doesn’t right?

There are a few extra bits and bobs that I do to keep it looking lustrous and healthy, and there are a few products that I simply adore. Of course healthy hair comes from good nutrition as well, but these products have been tried and tested by yours truly and I’m happy to say I love them – and I’ve definitely gone through my fair share of natural hair care that has left my hair heavy, oily, and greasy, so trust me when I say these are fab!

Shampoo and Conditioner from Rahua: These have been my favourite natural shampoo and conditioner so far! They don’t leave my hair feeling heavy or waxy, and my hair always feels super shiny and clean afterwards. The smell is mild, which I love as I hate smells that are intensely sweet or citrus.

Hair Mask from Rahua or homemade: I love doing hair masks, and since I’ve got flamboyage on my hair it means the ends can get very dry and sad, which is a big no-no for me – I like my hair bouncy and smooth. I’ll usually do a hair mask every week or two, and will usually use this amazing Rahua mask. I’ve also had great success with homemade ones by simply mixing coconut oil, egg whites, and almond oil. I’ll apply to the tips and make a plait, then either rinse after 15 minutes or leave overnight and rinse in the morning.

Mauli Hair Oil and Rahua Elixir – My hair grows quickly but I have thin fine hair, which means it needs all the strength it can get! I’ll apply the Mauli oil on my scalp all the way to my tips and leave on overnight, with a towel on my pillow so it doesn’t get all greasy. For the Rahua Elixir, I’ll apply it after I wash my hair, especially if I’m blow-drying to help protect it, and also once it’s dry to keep those fly-aways under control.

Tangle Teezer and Paddle Brush: It’s so important to brush your hair, especially your scalp, at night. It improves circulation and gives you a mini-massage, plus it also distributes those natural hair oils. I’ll use my paddle brush every night, and if I need to de-tangle my hair or brush it when its wet (carefully!) I’ll use my tangle teezer.

Apple cider vinegar and Tea Tree Toner: I have a spray bottle in my bathroom which is a mix between filtered water, apple cider vinegar, and tea tree oil and I spray it on my scalp once or twice a week after I wash my hair. It keeps it feeling fresh and flake-free.
