Chocolate Cherry Mousse (Simple Guilt-Free Dessert!)

Sometimes you just need a little sweet pick-me-up after a meal.

Maybe it’s the colours of this mousse, or the flavours, or the chocolate, but it has date-night all over it. It’s the kind of mousse you would want to make for your fella (or lady, depending whose reading)(or for yourself and a friend, if you’re single! I don’t exclude). Not only does it look pretty, but it’s also a crowd-pleaser.

Just imagine. You’ve just had a nice, romantic home-cooked dinner (candle-lit, of course), with soft music playing in the background, and you bring out these babies as dessert. BAM! You’ve got them!

Again, if you’re single, just enjoy these on your own or with a friend. Candle-light optional in this case, but still recommended.

Now, I love cherries.

Their colour is just so stunning, and the taste is so delicious. Since autumn will be starting in Europe soon, better get those last cherries in asap! You really don’t want to miss out!

Come on, how could that not impress someone?Avocado Banana Chocolate Mousse via Teffy's Perks

You’ve got the avocado and the coconut for good fats, the raw cacao and the cacao nibs for the awesome antioxidants and energy, bananas for potassium, and not to mention all of the health benefits of cinnamon!

We use maple syrup and dates for sweetness (dates are a also good source of fiber!) so this oh so simple mousse is sweet without being a burden to our bodies. Sexy and full of goodness!

To make enough for 2 people, you will need:

For the mousse:
2 very ripe bananas
3/4 cup avocado flesh
1/4 cup chopped cherries
2 tbsp raw cacao
Pinch of cinnamon
4 medjool dates, pips removed
1 tbsp maple syrup
1/2 – 1 tsp water

Toppings:
4 cherries, chopped
2 tbsp dessicated coconut
1 tbsp cacao nibs

Let’s make it baby!

So so simple – simply add all of your ingredients to a food processor and blend until smooth! Start with a little water and add more if you feel it is necessary. You want it to be nice and creamy.

Separate into two servings and refrigerate (it’s nicer to eat it cold, so leave it there for at least 15 minutes).

Once you’re ready to serve simply sprinkle on your toppings, dividing equally onto both servings. Enjoy!
