Natural Beauty: I’m Loving… Oil Pulling!

Natural Beauty: All You Need to Know About Oil Pulling with Sprinkle of Green & Keeko Oil!

There are a lot of things in the wellness world that kind of make you scratch your head and wonder if people have actually lost their minds. Actually, the first time I ever heard of oil pulling I thought it was downright weird, so I completely get you if you think the same.

So what the heck exactly is oil pulling?

“Oil pulling is an ancient practice originating from Indian Ayurvedic medicine and used to detoxify the mouth and body. This ancient practice is fast gaining popularity all over the world because not only does it cleanse your mouth and increase your overall health, it also naturally whitens your teeth and gives you a killer smile!” Keeko

Basically it means putting coconut oil in your mouth and slushing it about for some time every day.

Luckily I got to try Keeko Oil (my favourite flavour is the Citrus Burst with lemon, lime and grapefruit), and this has been one of those situations where I was pleasantly surprised. What I had envisioned as me unwillingly rolling gooey oil around in my mouth actually turned out to be super fun! My mouth felt super clean and fresh afterwards, so much so that I now look forward to it.

Since you need to swirl for 5-15 minutes, I’ll do it as I’m busy doing other things such as washing my face, taking a shower, moisturising or even shaving. Then simply spit out (definitely don’t swallow!) and brush as normal, flashing those pearly whites.

With benefits like clearer skin and aiding in detoxing, besides the obvious fresher mouth and whiter teeth, I really think everyone should at least try oil pulling, it’ll be one thing you won’t regret!

  • This looks so great! I usually find oil pulling kind of gross, but I would really like to try these flavoured sachets!

    • The flavoured ones definitely make it, I’m not sure how I’d deal with simply oil. I highly recommend giving it a go =)
