Healthy Eating in Dubai

I spent just over two weeks in Dubai last week, and while I did cook most of the time at our Airbnb apartment, I did go out for some incredibly delicious and healthy food. There are still some on my hit-list that I didn’t make, but these are my favourite ones so far!

The Bench at the Pavillion Downtown Dubai

So every Friday and Saturday (Dubai’s weekend days) they the Pavillion has The Bench. I absolutely loved the concept of this place, It’s their version of a Sunday brunch meets fancy hotel breakfast buffet. There is a huge bench filled with breakfast goodies ranging from jars of quinoa salad to pots of yoghurt, fruit bowls, croissants, veggie crudites, juices, and more, and you unlimited access to all this delicious food. On top of that, you can choose one dish from their brunch menu and one hot drink. It’s a nice change from the common brunch setting, plus everything is beautifully presented (I’m a sucker for things in jars).

The Sum of Us

The perfect place to grab a table outside on a sunny day while enjoying a delicious green tea and rose iced tea. The food was incredibly delicious, I had the El Mejico salad and I need to go back to have it again. So so good! It’s the perfect place to meet up with friends for a late lunch, and you’re pretty much guaranteed everything on the menu will be amazing.

Common Grounds

The setting for this one is not the best as it’s in a mall, but the food and drinks more than make up for it. They also serve Wild and the Moon juices and smoothies, and getting one of them is a must as they’re super refreshing and taste amazing.

Freedom Pizza

This came as a recommendation from a friend and I can honestly say it’s the best healthy pizza I’ve ever had! They do gluten-free crusts and you can even get vegan cheese, plus all the toppings are locally sourced. As far as pizzas go, this is the most guilt-free option you’ll probably ever find, and it does so without compromising on taste. Definitely won me over!

I had Comptoir 102 on my list but never made it, but I’ve heard it’s awesome! Also there are a few organic supermarkets around, but my favourite was Organic Foods & Cafe, they stored everything I wanted and needed ranging from coconut yogurt to buckwheat pasta, so if you’re looking to stock up, I’d definitely recommend a trip here.
