I’ve always loved milkshakes.
I remember that whenever we ate out as a family, I’d always order one. Another thing to point out is I have also always been very clumsy. It actually runs in family, I get it from my dad and one of my brothers has ti too. Which means I also remember more often than not spilling half of the milkshake all over myself, making a huge mess. I was a pleasure to take out to meals.
Though I’m a less messy eater now, my love for milkshakes still goes strong, and these vegan milkshakes make me go weak at the knees.
These are called freakshakes actually, as they go above and beyond your regular, run-of-the-mill milkshakes.
I mean, just look at them – cookie and popcorn, whipped coconut cream, caramel and chocolate fudge sauce. There is nothing plain or boring going on here. We’re fully embracing this decadence in a glass. No holding back. It’s time to embrace the messy, dripping chocolate sauce and the sticky caramel.
I’ve made two flavours, one strawberry chocolate and one banana, vanilla and caramel. Which one you choose to go for depends on your tastes – and you could of course still go for both. No judgement.
I also had a bit leftover, which is an occupational hazard of being a blogger, so I placed the leftovers in the freezer, whisking every 30 minutes to break the icicles. This makes it into a sort of sorbet, and then just let it thaw at room temperature for 20 minutes before tucking back in. Waste not, want not.
